The barrels are Damascus, SN 72709, off a top action hammergun in excellent original condition. I live close to Larry DelGrego who upon seeing the barrels told me to unite them with a high grade gun. The gun letters as made for the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair along with later NYS expos. Unfortunately as i am sure you are aware it seems only 2 hammerguns were made in this configuration therefore my quest will be a long one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

2 Attachment(s) Joe, I understand the situation, very interesting. Yes, there are only two Quality B 28" 12 ga top action hammer guns. There is one C and one A also 28" . Lets make sure they are off a 1 frame, probably so, but please measure center to center barrel at the breech end and see what you find. If they are 2 frame, then there are many more possible fits. There are three people here who I would turn to immediately with serious questions about serious hammer guns, Gary, Charlie and Robin. I suspect there are many opportunities to cobble these fine damascus barrels on a lesser gun, but IMHO, these should be treated right. Ideas from others? This is a B lifter action hammer gun, so you can see what is missing. They are works of art. I'm fortunate to just have a C, all are so rare. |

Grade 5 barrels Bruce, thanks for your help. measured barrels best i can, seem to be 1 1/16 but could be 1 1/8th very hard to measure. They are stamped with #1 on lug and marked DD with barrel weight of 3lbs 10 oz if this helps. Much easier to measure firing pins on center. |
