Did Charlie catch the poor things in the back yard trying to start a family?

Ed Blake 09-22-2012 07:58 AM

Obviously flying squirrels.

Dean Romig 09-22-2012 07:59 AM

I'm pretty sure Charlie caught them raiding his pecan plantation. He has told me about his squirrel problems before and I'm glad to see that he is finally reducing their numbers.

With squirrels it's not so much about how many you can kill as squirrels usually get the message pretty early about hunters and how quickly they ought to vacate the area where hunters are frequently seen.

My Wirehair hunts squirrels the same way she hunts treed ringnecks. She barks them to death. Charlie's dogs probably do the same.

I prefer a Walker or Redbone when hunting Mr. Kitty. I have been known to bait the local Pheasant murderer that was traveling past my house. As most shots are at treed Kitty Cats a .22 revolver works fine, when sniping at longer ranges I prfer larger calibre's such as a 270 or 300H&H. Its a humanity issue for me:whistle:

Show no mercy Rich... none....and always use hollow points in the .300...

Taken in December 1967 with a 12-gauge #6 Nitro Express in an 1899-vintage DH-Grade Parker Bros. with Italian steel barrels.

Still in the market for the original barrels for #88224.

Nice cat Dave. What did you take the bunny with?

Bruce Day 09-22-2012 10:03 PM

Good God. He's killed Flopsy.
