Thanks Charlie, Brian.I think the engraving on the top lever is a nice touch.
Brian you made me look at the top lever and I just noticed that the lever is only knurled(right word I hope) on the left side and the other side is smooth. I wonder if a gun for a left handed person has the knurled part on the right side?? Funny thing the things people see for the first time. |
Angel, I just checked 6 guns and they are all knurled on the left side only.

Mine too. Are there any that have it on the right side??

I took her out to the sporting clays and I came away thinking why would anyone need such a massive quail gun? I decided to use Polywad's Vintagers 2 inch shells loaded with 2-1/4 dram eq. and 24 grams of 7-1/2 shot.
After the first shot I stopped to check the gun out because the sound was so muffled I thought I blew a bbl. I took the second shot and I had to stop again. I don't know if it was the 2 inch shell or the mass on the gun but I never heard a gun soud like that. And of course recoil was almost none. I thought I was shooting a .410. Next time I'm gonna try the 2-1/2 inch shells. |
The knurling (or metal checkering) would always be on the left side since that is the side you have to push on to open the gun. The lever pushes the same way regardless of if you are right or left handed.

YOU'RE RIGHT...:)

I've got a big heavy 10 gauge hammer gun and with the light RST loads it sounds that way too. Like shooting a .410 really gets your attention it's so quiet.

I have read warnings against shooting 2" shells in guns chambered for longer shells. The warning states that there is a distinct possibility of the wads "tipping" as a result of the extra chamber length and we all know what happens when a wad tips...
|
That stinks!!! It was like shooting a 9 pound .410....
|
That is one nice gun Angel.
Dean, I don't understand wad tipping. You must be talking about the under shot wad does it tip let the gas buy and stay in the barrel? How does it tip with pressure holding it to the bottom of the shot? Ask dumb questions why not. ch |
