1902

Your serial number indicates your gun was built in 1902. Look forward to seeing some pictures.

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply. I think you may be right about the owner did not want anyone to fire the gun, at least on one side. The barrel on the side that was drilled has a small dent. I was told someone tried to convert it into a lamp. Also there are some drill holes in the stock, as shown in the photos, which makes me think a stand was attached to hold it upright. In your oppinion, do you think this gun could be cleaned up for a display peice?

A small dent is no reason to do what was done to that gun .Are the barrels badly pitted ?or thin. Yes I would say it would make a display but never a shooting double.

Breech of the barrels are stamped +. And Damascus Barrels are 3 lbs 14 on a 3 Frame. Both firing pins are intact. Hmmm.

The barrels don't look pitted or thin. They appear very clean inside. I am a rookie on guns. Just starting out and very interested to learn. I was planning on taking this to a gunsmith hoping to find out what my options are before I do anything.I would be nice to be able to clean this up and fire it, even if only one side can be used.

Thanks for the response! Can you tell me your thoughts? "Hmmm"

Hell! Display piece? That thing can be fixed as long as the barrels are sound. It wouldn't take much to weld that hole in the breech ball up and re engrave it. 3 frame. Is it a 10ga? What a great project gun!!
