Damn, now I feel bad for not putting up the "head up" sign. I fugure you guys were hip to it.

I talked to the guy this morning and it was a ligit deal. He told me he sold an estate a couple of years ago of about 200 guns and these were some of the guns that the family members kept. But now they have brought them in to sell-----

OMG what buys for someone, a BHE 30" straight grip for $2900 and a little 28 gauge 30" for $3900. This is the only great side of a down economy, stuff's coming out of the closet to pay bills.

Who got em???

Mike.Smith 06-23-2012 02:19 PM

I too, had my eye on this one and emailed the guy the first day it was posted. He didn't have much info posted on the gun at that point, and I was looking for a few more pieces of info before bidding. At that point he responded and said it was tentatively sold. He said he would contact me if the deal fell through. Yeah right, who in their right mind doesn't follow through with the purchase of a BHE for $2,900 if that is what it sold for. What a let down!

Very surprised at those prices...even in this economy. It's as if the seller didn't even look on GB or GI to get a feel for what people are asking for similar guns.

Hard to believe those guns didn't go out for several thousand more. Wouldn't the 28 go in the teens if it were decent?

I'd be interested in another BHE for twice what that sold for. Much nicer wood than mine even with that huge drop at the heel.

The upside of a down economy.

I don't think it's the downside of the economy so much as it was an uneducated seller.

Larry Stauch 06-23-2012 03:59 PM

Yes, IMHO the BHE should be triple the price and the VH(E)? 28 gauge could have a one in front of the number.

Angel Cruz 06-23-2012 04:04 PM

He still has the VH 20ga going and it's steadly climbing in price.

That straight stock I bet could have been bent up a 1/2" . The pad looked to be a collapsed 3/4", add a 1" pad and you would have a 14+ LOP

Mike.Smith 06-23-2012 06:51 PM

The VH looks good, but a crack all the way around the wrist? Wondering how bad that really is?

Wood can always be repaired.
