A friend is going to this auction to bid on some of the tackle and decoys. He lives not far away and I told him to buy the Parker if it gets below 10 grand. He has the money to do it but not really interested in guns. I told him it would look really nice in his decoy room.

Not trying to start a fight but it seems to me the "Blue Book" has seldom been accurate when it comes to pricing Parkers. I have seen sellers using it to try to justify ridiculously overpriced guns but that's about it. Does the book provide pricing that is even remotely accurate?

Robert, have no fear that this gun will sell for under ten grand.

Ask Bill Mullins. He writes the Parker section. Parker values are highly condition dependent. Many sellers overstate condition. Like it or not, case colors are a key indicator of condition. There is also a popular belief that any Parker is rare and people see some selling for high prices and put hopeful high prices on their guns. There can be a big difference and and a long time for those sellers between asking and getting. |
I figure probably closer to twice that.

Some Parkers and others have been for sale on the net as long as I have been interested in them. 10 dimes is twice as much as 2 quarters when you are in the retail buisness.Whatever that is worth.:bigbye:
