Bill Anderson, all late Remington replacement barrels are devoid of logo. The exact style of matting is the important thing. David, you are the man. You will get a great gun if you win.

$8000 plus the premium...

The 10 ga GHE went for $4012 with premium and the 12 ga GHE went for $4130 with premium.

The ten gauge was a steal. No way it would go for such a price if I were at the auction. The CHE 16 was obviously an original gun with Remington replacement barrels unless the auction was not on the up and up.

Amateur looking barrel flat stamping on a replaced barrel and a replacement stock by DelGrego could never be a great gun at any price for me.

Mr. Anderson, There are many collectors who feel as you do and I can totally understand and appreciate that. But a very experienced collector whom you have heard of once bought a very nice but very refinished lifter 16ga told me, "it's pretty and it is what it is..." I learned there is always a place in my safe for a nice gun even if it isn't without a colored past... And when repros in 20ga go for $4500 with machine created DH engraving, what is a true CHE 16ga worth even with replacement barrels? To each their own.
