Dennis you forgot one of my favorite classified/auction site shot. My favorite is the full length gun photo with toes, socks and shoes sticking into the bottom of the frame.

Now honestly, when hanging out in a forum I don't worry about the quality of others photos. I'm glad they are here participating, sharing their knowledge and excitement. Bad photos or great I like to see them.

I realize that, to some, a camera setting beyond "automatic" can be moving into a scary realm. They don't call them point and shoots for nothing. I earn my living with my cameras and I'll make an offer here: if anyone wants tips, pointers and help on taking better firearms photos drop me a note and I'll be happy to share my knowledge and experience.

When I read your post of photography tips I thought they were all good things to remember and that you were trying to help the other members by providing them. I could not however remember seeing any of your photos. That may be what others wondered about if they did not regard your noble effort of helping those not as skilled. I have since viewed the one album you posted and I am impressed in how you caught the differences in the case colors. Very good work indeed!

Your post was IN THE SPIRIT of the Parker forums in trying to help others. Thank you.

Although those posts following yours may have seemed disrespectful to you, I understand their point as I do yours. I like to see photos from all our members. Some recent hunting stories were good but a few photos would have made the experience 10 times better for those of us not fortunate to live in hunting city USA.

For all: When we communicate or attempt to via this one-dimensional means of writing, much is lost if the recipient does not speak the same dialect, or have the same frame of reference (think of the setting of a story) as does the writer. That is why so very few persons can make a good living by writing. It is not easy to communicate to everyone! When reading a post, we DO NOT SEE the facial expressions that would express the spirit of the message and the mood of the sender. Without those facial expression or without understanding the reference of the sender, much can be misinterpreted. That’s why someone long ago invented silly things like :)

Hey Bill, I envy you for being close enough to Elizabeth for those semi-nude photos. Man, am I in the wrong line of work!!!

A few years ago on the doublegunshop forum I read Steven Dodd Hughes’s advice on gun photography. I in turn asked him a few questions which were promptly answered. For that small kindness I shall always hold him in high regard.

Anyone wishing to improve their scenic photos and play with lighting and textures should study Jack Cronkhites pics. The man is a genius with a camera.

Sometimes all one has at a particular moment in time is the little digital camera in a cell phone with all it's inherent limitations but sometimes you get something decent.
