If that gun is factory original and the letter supports 3 barrels ,I think that price range is a bit low.

As to price, don't forget the chopped stock. David

David
you are right, that blows the "factory original" in my post and puts the gun back lower. David |
Provenance of multi barrel sets in that serial number range usually involves close inspection by experienced Parker collectors more than factory documentation. I don't know how to explain what to look for, but I know it when I see it.

How detramental is haveing the stock cut?
What do I need to do to make sure that that the provenance is correct for this gun? Thank you for your time and consideration. Tom Cottingham |
Tom: What is the LOP to the end of the wood. I'm sure that someone here has a spare skeleton butt plate laying around that could be expertly fitted to the stock. BTW you need to find that letter IMHO.
Best Regards, George |
Tom, being a trap gun, you may find the gun was ordered with a pad, so it really isn't detrimental to the value of the gun. The majority of trap guns were ordered with pads.
Send for a PGCA Research Letter to learn more about your Parker. The link for a letter is on our Home page. |
A chopped stock has a considerable effect on price, at least 3-4000$ and the gun will never be original even if you replace the stock with a good reproduction or other remediation. It is the kind of thing that makes a collector weep. Also remember what Bill Murphy said about the barrels. Please bargain hard for the gun as you will end up spending money to put the gun right and $ value is always what someone else is willing to pay you for it. Looks like a nice gun with great potential for shooting. Good luck!!! David

Find the letter!! It should indicate if the gun originally came with a pad.
