Took both the Mauser and the 20g. Bolt to the range yesterday. The 20g. with full choke handled the slugs just fine, but my pick is the Mauser for this weekends deer hunting effort.

I was using a paper Torso target at 50 yards. Using the head as the target for the slugs and center mass for the Mauser.

at 50 yards the 20g. slugs were not very accurate at all. Missed the head on all 3 shots. Don't know if it was the choke effecting the accuracy or if it was the fact that all I had was a sigle bead, being it is a bird barrel and all. It was also a very windy day here yesterday. That could have had something to do with it. All shots were left and low of the point of aim.

The Mauser Performed much better. With 13 shots fired I put all of them within an 8" circle at center mass. First 8 were shooting off a rest and the others off hand with my elbow supported.

probably the site on the slug gun...my old 8 ga beads so big it covers the target fully... i bet the wind was not helping you with the mauser..... good luck this week.... charlie

Seems to me that I read that slugs work best out of an I/C choke

On the Box of Remington Sluggers that I bought it says that they can be shot through any coke, but that IC is the best.
