Good point. I spoke with Del Grego about two months ago about a set of Damascus barrels. He said he understood my problem and commiserated, but due to liability issues, he said he could not work on the barrels (thank you, American lawyers). I'm not sure if he would consider working on other portions of a Damascus barrel gun... say the stock or action parts, etc.

For the kind of repairs you want done on the VH 16, I would box it up and send it to Keith Kearcher in Bend, Oregon. Don't overinsure it and don't send it by some expensive method. Send it USPS Registered. You will get it faster and cheaper than if you use my two favorite Parker gunsmiths, Larry Del Grego or Dewey Vicknair. The end result will be just fine.

Mr. Murphy offers sound advice for shipping. However, my past experience may suggest an alternative to his choice of craftsmen. Personally, I'd send the gun to Bachelder if not Del Grego or Vicknair.
