Andy, I have a friend from Quebec that crosses regularly with dogs and guns. There are some newer rules in place for dogs that are enforced very differently depending on the crossing location. Guns require paperwork. Also enforced differently based on crossing location.

Thank you Dan. Now to find a lodge...

Andy, best to take your gun(s) before the trip to the nearest airport with a Customs Office and verify you own it/them before leaving the US, by filling out the simple Customs form. The Customs officer will verify the serial number(s) and sign and stamp the Form. Not required for entry into Canada but necessary to show if asked to prove prior ownership upon re-entry to the US. On past deer hunting trips to Saskatchewan I've been asked to show that US Customs form about 1/2 of the time.

Franks advise it good. I have traveled to Canada four time hunting and before my trips if was taking a different gun I visited my local customs office with my gun and had my ownership verified. I have been asked several times upon reentry to show that form.

Steve and Frank I appreciate that advice, easy to do for sure.
