What can you tell us about the Rigby looking rifle in your cabinet?

William Woods 07-27-2025 10:41 AM

That old saying comes to mind; "A thing of beauty is a joy forever".

It is a 2011 Heym “Express by Martini” in 375 H&H first year production.

Ralf Martini a well known fine gunmaker was commissioned by Heym in 2009 to design a new stock “a trim stock in the early English style” for the Heym Express bolt action rifle which was in full production by 2011 under the name “Heym Express by Martini”.

It’s the best handling and pointing rifle I’ve ever owned.

Wow, what a great rifle. Guys who spend all their time with side by sides don't get exposed to great gunsmiths like Martini. My Rigby .375 is a wonderful gun, but unfortunately not in the early style with short forearm and abbreviated stock. It was built for a late friend in 1969 for a planned tiger hunt that even a CIA Station Chief couldn't quite pull off. Rigby shipped the gun to Kabul and it went hunting a bit, but not for the then protected tigers. I try to keep my collector rifle collection up to date, but I'm in selling mode now. Thanks for the information and the pictures.
