No need to draw attention to yourself, not everyone is as Pro 2A as you might be. Nothing good comes of clear wrappers. Do you honestly think you’re going to turn the mailman into a Parker aficionado because of that clear wrapper?

That’s called shrink wrap packaging . They’ve got rather rapid machines for doing that of this I know from quite a few years in the magazine printing industry all be it twenty years ago . And I’m sure the shrink wrap mailing machines are far better than the ones twenty years ago . However I know of no cost efficient way of stuffing in paper envelopes . It might be a thought to use plastic that’s colored I’ve seen it in blue , white or red if memory serves . But if I’m not mistaken the printing binding run for Parker Pages is maybe 2k printed and bound but maybe 1.7k or so for mailing so in a run that small one cannot expect it to be cost friendly .

Mine came yesterday, Friday.
Thought, why did I get two?
Oh…. Wife became a member at the Southern!:)

We’ve been through this before Ian. The only firearm magazine that came in a solid cover was DGJ and the cover said Double Gun Journal. The NRA magazines, Guns and Ammo, Field and Stream, etc all come wide open for everyone to see. If your postman doesn’t like it tell the USPS. If you’re afraid of what any neighbors would think I’d ask them why they are looking at your mail. As I told you in our emails this week, we put the magazine together, your editors and the PGCA don’t control the packaging and shipping. We will not pay more to ship them in a solid covering. If you are unhappy with that you can allow your membership to lapse and you don’t have to fear anymore. This is the last time this topic will be discussed, especially in an open forum AGAIN.

I like the plastic wrap. It protects the magazine.

This issue was exceptional. Thanks to the contributors and our editors (and thanks, Andy, for your good work).

Sometime folks look way too hard to find something to worry about

August had mentioned at the Southern that Andy had convinced him to take an ad out in PP's. I noted that he has a nice full page ad in this issue. Nice work Andy and thank you August for your support of the PGCA.

It is a very nice ad.

Finally got my issue on 5/31. Well done Mike and Sam.

Finished reading the new PP this morning at Hilton Head. Lots of good reading there.
Phi Yearout's article was excellent, never met William Headrick, but knew the name immediately from his illustrations.
Andrew Phipps article on his Parker hammer gun and his photography was right up my alley. I believe that this must be the same Drew Phipps that I have corresponded with on social media, he posts great pictures of his setters and hard working little cockers. Hope to see more from him in the future.

Dean Romig 06-02-2025 06:44 AM

Yes Harold, that’s the same Drew.
