And I get what you mean about having to pull the darn sleeve up everytime you look at your watch. I have resorted to strapping the watch over my sleeve. We, too, are bell folks (except when after pheasant in SD) and put them on even when training or roading here in SC. You become so accustomed tp it that it's mostly when the bell stops that it gets your attention. It may help in scattering hogs and coyotes. |

Harold,I usually run my refresh on 5 seconds unless I am close to a road. I carry my handheld clipped to the front of my vest,I can correct a dog with it still clipped to the vest. It is not in the way of my gun mount when worn like this.

I have the 300i, I really like it. I bought the accessory clip that attaches to the back of the handheld. I cut a slot in my vest and stitched it up so not to get any bigger. It rides high on my left chest just above my heart. I can glance at it as needed. I use the watch too. I will get a picture of my set up and post it. SXS Ohio

One thing I forgot to mention was that I have had excellent help from customer service. There can be a pretty long wait on hold but you can leave a call back number which is what I usually do. Since my memory is so short I write all my questions down in case it's hours later they call you back. I am impatient with electronics (my wife is an IT person so usually she can help except when she tells me it's "user error") and I must say the tech folks at Garmin actually use the devices and have given me some great tips. Hope the 300i works out. |
