Yes, about 630 last night. I'm refinishing it and recutting the checkering. It had likely refinished before.

If the dark area is oil or sweat stain, another strip with acetone or such may even out the color. Can we see the rest of the gun?

Bill unfortunately the dark area is burned not sure how.

FWIW, my guess is that the comb of the stock was cut down at some point, leaving the existing height at at the heel and almost completely lowered at the front to yield a flat top profile. Not a lot of way to tell from the pictures, but that is the lowest front I can remember. It essentially starts at the top of the grip and goes back.
