Amazon has a lot of nice wood and brass wall mount hooks available. My bro-in-law had some spring-loaded hooks that spring back against the gun to secure it in place. The fronts were some sort of gun-related items I think his were pistols but there might be other things available) but I couldn't find any when I searched.

Kids can crack safes but they leave guns alone if they know they'll get a sore rear end if they mess with them. That was my experience.
