NIce Parker. You will have a ball with it.

I never take the sear pin all the way out. I just take it half way to remove one sear then tap it back through to remove the other. I place the receiver in a padded vice with a 6" piece of 2x4 with leather on it to support the stock and this realy helps when putting it back together and getting the safety lever in it's slot.

Richard thats kind of how I finally got the pin in. I got the pin in on the side I started it but when I got to the other sear I ran into trouble getting it aligned I finally got it done after going in from the far side with a drill bit slightly smaller in diamater than the pin. then went back to the pinned side and tapped the pin forcing out the drill bit.

I noticed on the bottom of the barrel lug in addition to 2 for frame size this gun had an 8 stamped sideways relative to the 2. Anyone know what that indicates?

Brent, that 8 may be another of those markings that are not understood. There are a number of other markings in the same category.

Brent, as a professional stockmaker I must say you did a most excellent job! Very nice indeed! Jerry

thanks Jerry, Ive been a woodworking hobbiest for a long time. I was fortunate that the break at the wrist was very clean also I could still see the checkering lines in the forend The checkering in the sock was Parker perfect already and just needed to be scrubbed with some alcohol to get the crud out of the cuts. If I ever do another broke stock repair I will match the epoxy color to the lighter refinished color rather than the dark oxidised color of the unrefinished walnut (rooky mistake. luckily the wood had that nice striping of light and dark which keeps the missmatch from looking too bad.

shot it today

I got some 2 1/2 inch Vintager shells, and tightened the action with a brass shim. shot a round of trap and while I didnt break 25 the gun did what it was supposed to do and the stock repair seems to be solid. Very pleasant to shoot with those light loads.
