Trim hulls to 2 1/2", 20grs 7625, SG16 wad, 7/8oz, roll crimped. 16 is the only gauge I don't have a Nick Ross roll crimper for. I use an old time Bridgeport Products tool. |
Thank you
What primer are you using? |

For perspective, this may help. High Velocity loads from the Lyman Shotshell Reloading Handbook, 4th Edition 1998. Note that the pressures are shown in LUP, not modern transducer measurements which would be 10% or so higher. Also note this data for Federal PLASTIC cases with paper base wad and pie crimp. Not sure if it helps, Jeff, but here is the info from the Lyman Shotshell Reloading 1st edition. Nothing lower than 1 oz. though.

Wow thank you! It’s interesting that they are interchangeable. I found some federal plastics that say ( Federal game 2 3/4 70 mm) that’s all on them. Took it apart and it’s same base wad. I looked through my dads old book that goes back to early 1980’s, but can’t find a load for that shell, or should I say a load calling for a “federal game” |
