The forearm wood is a replacement. Can't see if there is any forearm metal.

Yes this gun is/was near Quebec City and was on the forum earlier this year. I had a local gunsmith friend check it out for the owner. The forearm including iron is missing and has a home made replacement. The barrels upon inspection had significant inside pitting and it was recommended not to shoot the gun. My assessment to the owner was that it was a parts gun or a discussion piece. It’s a shame as the exterior metal of the gun is in great shape. I found a couple pics of it. Some heavy pitting in the chamber and the makeshift forearm.

If you can find a replacement forearm or at least iron, (or even if you don't) you might consider using a set of tubes in 28 ga. A much more inexpensive solution would be chamber adapters in 28 ga with low pressure loads.Either way, have a gunsmith examine it for barrel thickness before trying.

Someone on this site should know whether you can adapt the metal from a larger size forearm to your gun. I have done that before and it worked fine. The larger size forearm would be easier to find than a #0 frame forend.

Yes you can. Some work would be needed in a few areas for a proper fit. Both in the removing metal and adding metal category.

I also have a number of new old stock irons that are overaized enough for use on frame sizes 0 through 2.
