Gun is hard to open initially after firing. Once it breaks free, it opens easily. The primers are scratched,so I am guessing that is the problem. Given that this is the first time fired in 30 years, it may just assume it's location back in the safe

It was restocked about 25 years ago by a well-known outfit in the midwest (sellers of many stock blanks. Also now out of business, apparently). Who it might have been?
Last, but not least. Any guesses? Seems to me their name perhaps began with a "J" and was about 6 letters long. Driving my feeble mind crazy |
Have 2, a Sterlie and A grade both 16ga. Both will hang up momentarily with both barrels fired. Not as noticable on 1 barrel. Reload Remington with Cheddite primers worst, factory Winchester no problem.
Could the name be Fajen or Bishop? |
Yes Sir Been there Had that! Try different shells before you do anything !
|
Have had the same problem with more than one Fox.
Will have to try them with different factory shells, and with reloads and different primers. BTW, no problems with Parkers. |
My big problem was 20ga Challenger shells. The 12 ga work fine.
