I’d like it mo-betta at $6000-6500 .

I think prices have jumped way up from the 6500.00 that was the norm pre inflation for a nice two barrel set. I might pay 7K if I wanted it and I think that is all the money!, and that would depend on the chokes, stock dimensions and such. The pictured gun is very nice and if stocked correctly a guy may spend 7500.00 and still be happy. Opening chokes if properly done does not affect value of the used guns that much. I feel the only choke that really needs cutting is the full as they were way over choked from the factory at .033-.038 I had my 28" barrels opened from .014/.033 to a usable .003/.020 = Skeet 1 and full. When grouse hunting, I like a 28gauge gun with 28" barrels and grouse chokes. If you want a Skeus parker for hunting that has that over choke barrel, this is what needs to happen. Note: the barrel flat is marked full, recut to .020 is still FULL.....(-: Thanks all, SXS Ohio

I’m going to have Eyster open my .035 “full” barrel to around .020 this spring, and I thought the same thing, it’s still basically full choke…

Falling into the FWIW category, there was a 28 gauge in yesterday's auction with Beavertail forearm, DT, choked Q1 and Q2 with 26" barrels in case that hammered for 7K, plus $1,400 for the BP. $8400 total.

Tom - that’s just like the one I’m putting together with the straight stock I bought from Brian Dudley.
But mine will have both the SG and the PG for future generations to choose from… It’s going to be willed to my granddaughters.

I had purchased the gun for Kathy. With the BTFE and the PG she loved it and was learning to shoot with it. I had used her Q1 & Q2 barrels and BTFE coupled with my DT and SG back end for some of my VT bird hunting.

I will be sending both stocks to Geoffroy Gournet for engraving of the initial ovals with the following instructions.

Tom, yesterday's auction was a strange situation with "A rich man and his money are soon parted." I hesitate to use the word fool, but the price was a couple thousand too high for a 26" Repro. The previous posters' advice is well chosen. However, the pictured gun is beyond exceptional in features as well as wood.

Bill, I think the buyer may have been smitten with the Beavertail forearm, DT and Q1 and Q2 chokes. That combination is really hard to find. I have the same thing, but with the splinter forearm. Took me about 3 years of auction watching to find it. I did however pay far far less then what this gun sold for.

I edited my last post.
