The DH is just the way I like to find them. Still visible case colors, nice checkering, gorgeous barrels. If it were mine, I'd investigate have Mark Larson do his magic on a skillfully installed extension, with a skeleton butt plate. Sure, a recoil pad may get it to a shootable LOP, but they look totally out of place on an 0 frame gun. I have that exact gun, but with original, uncut stock and it is shear joy to shoot.

The stock is only a recoil pad away from original length. A Mark Larson extension and skeleton butt plate would cost a fortune.

Gotta say I’d certainly have no problem living with a Jostam pad on the original stock . While I like the skeleton plates they also have a tendency to slip on my shoulder from time to time . I’ve got a nice little DHE 20 on an 0 frame with 30” barrels that I seem to shoot very well but it does slip occasionally . I also have a DH 16 32” also with a skeleton plate that’s slipped a time or two . However I can deal with the slips and could deal with the pad on this little 16 . Lord knows I don’t mind the recoil pads on my DH 8 34” , the DH 10 32” or the DH 12 32” Pigeon gun . Almost forgot I have a second DH 12 32” pigeon gun that has a skeleton plate and it’ll scoot out from time to time as well . For all the negative points of pads and or slips I still like them all just as they are .
