Further, if they are signing for it they need to be sure it wasn't damaged in shipping - BUT DO NOT ASSEMBLE IT!!

We get a pile of stuff shipped in for other folks and my friend out front generally unpacks when they come in the front door . HOWEVER ........., when I have one coming I ask him to watch out for it as I WANT TO OPEN the box so if something happens when it was opened I did it or it was that way before I opened it . We shipped a pristine Remington 742 to someone a couple years ago , when the person went to the dealers to look it over there was a fresh deep scratch on the side of the reciever just like a knife did it . The pictures I had on GB showed no such scratch and the dealer “claimed” it was there when they opened the box , he wasn’t lying he scratched it with the knife to deep and then folded the top back . Anyway the buyer knew it as well and kept the gun . Ever since that happened I make sure I’m at the shop to open my own . I don’t think my friends will scratch them , but if it happens I’d rather it was me that did it cause I’ll have to eat the end result either way .
