The purveyor of those blanks was a very knowledgeable gentleman and a real pleasure to talk to and learn from. When it comes to his blanks he did it from start to finish. He cut the tree, he cut the blank. He had some very nice stuff at very reasonable prices in my opinion. Unfortunately for our community he's prepping for retirement. Sounds like Mtn. Man has a few projects in the future eh ...

I like the top one the best. It appears to me to be English walnut. The other two I'm guessing black or I think they may call it Royal out there.

All three were hybrids, American black walnut root stock and English walnut grafted to it.

I like the first one and the last one. That last one has some sweet chocolate color to it....

Problem is that blank isn't even close to what's on the gun now and I'd have to do the fore-end too if I chose that blank.
