Fox Repair

Andy I have posted these pics before of a broken stock repair so others have already seen them. This will give you some idea of what can be done. I am no expert by any means but I do not see your repair being all that difficult, I could be wrong so it would be best to wait for more knowledgeable folks to chime in. I will not quote what this repair cost my friend, I will only say how inexpensive it was compared to what I was thinking it was going to be. Good luck with it.

I agree its crazy that it happened during shipment. I did see very close up pictures of the wrist area prior to shipment and it looked fine. It was packaged pretty well also. It did get stuck in the snowstorm down south and was stuck for several days. Im not sure if something out of the ordinary happened at that time or not. After having the gun in hand I feel like it's worth fixing if its not just a crazy amount. It seems to be a solid gun that wasn't used a ton and I actually don't have a lot in it. I really appreciate the names for the stock repairs and I will be contacting them.

Randy would you care to let me know who did the repair. If you prefer a private message that's fine also. That is almost a miracle to my eyes on that stock. Thanks again.

Andy, we presume the gun was shipped broken down (disassembled into the two major sections) but was it or was it shipped assembled?

No problem with that at all David Vandenbrand out of MI did that one. Any of the names previously mentioned could do this I would think.

It was shipped assembled. Im sure that is what gave enough torque to break it at some point. It wasn't someone familiar with doubles that had it.

EXACTLY - these guns must never be shipped assembled unless shipped in an airlines type hard case.

I'll add Dave Wolf in Waco, Texas to the list of talented stock repair people.

Thanks for the help guys. The recommendations that you all posted paid off. The seller is paying for the repair plus some and after talking to several of the names mentioned I got a couple reasonable quotes and some confidence that it can definitely be repaired. Its not how I hoped it would happen but hopefully it all works out. It seems to me gettting this gun usable again beats it just setting around somewhere. I dont intend to ever sell the gun. My three boys are already placing dibbs on it lol. Maybe it will be a good excuse to pick another up someday.
