My favorite gun had a repaired wrist break that failed. It broke completely into. Bill Swartz in Elijay Ga. was able to put it back together. He also installed a steel all thread rod inside the wrist. How I don't know. I have fired several hundred rounds and it is holding up well. Turn around time was fast about 2 weeks. PM your phone no. and I will send a picture of it.

Well, I painted the broken surfaces down with titebond III and clamped up. I shall see how it does. The break wasnt a straight through break but instead a very jagged break that went through the wrist at an angle. I think this is better as it allowed a very good surface area of glue contact. We shall see...

The key to any repair like this is the reinforcement that is done to the joint. Not just the glue joint.
These days I have been having great results with carbon fiber dowel. It is stronger than steel, and adds no weight. |
