Covid is at fault for me. I didn't have anything else to do while keeping myself and my wife away from people. I started the year with about 0 and wanted shooter guns.... That has changed to:
two GH 32" 12 gauges, one really pretty Damascus barrels and the other a GHE with Vulcan steel an sst and straight stock. Then there was the 12ga. GH with pretty 28" Damascus barrels PG stock etc. Then the Lefever EE Damascus 28" gun with great wood and straight stock. Then the VH 20ga. with 30" barrels....... Then a 12ga. G grade Lefever with what appear to be original 26" Damascus barrels.... Not in that order.... I lusted after Parker as a kid in the early 60's even though a friend of my Dad's lent me an Ithaca grade 4 gun to shoot. Now, at 75, I am filling my rack with the guns I wish I had.... 16ga. is next..... here go some more retirement $$$$$ This is an interesting thread by the way. I am so glad to be here. |
Once you embark down the rabbit hole, it is hard turning around. Another has caught my attention today, but we will see

Picked up several guns so far this year: a 16 gauge 4E Smith, a BHE Damascus 20, 16 GHE 0 frame, and a 28 bore MacNaughton round action. I also picked up some guns from the gunsmith, including an AH 16 (see my new album), a Grade 3 10 gauge with 32” Damascus barrels, a G grade 16 gauge hammer gun, and and a Trojan 12 with tight chokes. Alas, no guns left my safes. :crying::banghead:

2021 has been year about changing the "herd". I've sold seven guns with one more on the market (Browning Superposed) already this year and purchased only two. Bought back my octagon barreled 1893 Marlin 38-55, sold to a friend several years ago and regretted the decision almost immediately!! Added Ruger Mini-14 .223 for obvious reasons.
I hope late 2021 or 2022 to add three guns: 1. Mint condition pre-64 Model 70 in 7 MM (located working on the price) 2. Browning 725 Grade III/IV or higher with three barrels 28 gauge with 32 and 28 inch barrels and 410 with 30 barrel 3. Stephen Grant 12 or 16 gauge side-lever with 30 inch barrels. PS: Could be a fourth if the gentleman storing my mint condition Lefever EE 12 gauge decides to sell. However if this happens one of my 12 gauge Parker will need to find a new address. |

Lunch, guns, and BS — sounds like a winning combination. 👍

Not too pretty but a VH 16 with 26” barrels. Most likely uncut. IC/Full chokes

I must admit, I feel this choke combination seems great for several different applications..... |
Interesting year, in that I was determined to sell off some guns and not add anything. But you know how that goes
First was a Remington era Parker skeet gun with great dimensions for me. 2nd was a model 21 skeet in 20 gauge also with great dimensions. Model 12 trap model that was to cheap to pass up. Marlin 35 1950’s with a great burled stock surprising for just a real working gun. Winchester model 94 in 32 special always wanted one. Winchester model 88 carbine in collectors condition couldn’t pass it up. Lastly a nice model 12 16 gauge from phil carr on this site great shooter in very nice condition. |
