Oh (groan).... you didn't buy the California DHE did you...?
He told me he sold it to a guy who just walked in off the street. The owner and I had several back and forth e-mails as I asked him about this and about that in order to confirm to myself that everything was "right" about the gun. I even went so far as to be certain that the 28" barrels cut back from the original 29" was confirmed by Parker Bros. records..... oh, groan... Congratulations! That is one magnificent Parker!! I'd sure like to hold that gun someday. |
Are you saying I should cut back my 29" DH so no one will think it was cut to 29 from 30?
|
Yes Bill, and I made up a jig for my hack-saw so it will cut a true 90 degree angle. If you don't have one I'll send you mine. I don't know how we'll explain the matting that runs off the end of the rib....

When I bought the 29" DH, I asked the seller how long the barrels were. He said he didn't have a measuring device. I measured the barrels with my tape and asked the seller whether he thought the gun had been cut. While looking at his shoes, he said he assumed the gun was unmolested. I commented that his price seemed reasonable so I would buy the gun. He seemed relieved to have sold his "unmolested" Parker at the asking price. You guessed it, original 29" Titanic barrels.

Never say "never".
That adage is reinforced almost daily. |
Dean,
Watch for a post from me on factory cut barrels. Yeah that's the one, if you knew the whole story you would really be kicking yourself! |
