Here's a Remington made 1/2 frame barrel that was put on a 1899 GH 1 frame. The rib has no legend.

Barrels on a 1905 DHE, guessing these were done in work order in 1938 along with a new straight grip and checkered butt with no skeleton.

This Remington rebarrel of this Quality DH used a set of barrels that must have languished in inventory quite a while. Has the JG in the oval on the left barrel flat and the circle for the steel mark on the right, but no steel type letter.

Picture isn't quite good enough to make out the date code. I can see X?3.

The rib has no legend.

Keep the pictures coming if you have example guns on hand!

Has anyone ever seen barrels, even if you don't currently own them, with a post-war date code? By that I mean we're pretty certain it was a barrel replacement, not other repair work. For example, XSS3 (December, 1947). According to the chart post-war codes have a two letter year code.

Some of the year codes can get confusing on late post war letters. Beginning in 1964 the codes start with L then 1965 iis M and 1966 is N and so on.
