Fella's,

I'm just going to throw this out here and don't mean to be offensive about it.

There's a good chance that the person who owns this gun might be a member here who might not appreciate a thread about pointing out all the defects & warts on a gun he has listed on an auction. The dealer listing this one does a lot of consignment auctions & this one could be consigned by a member.

Most of us here know how to evaluate a gun both for it's merits and demerits & will bid accordingly if we have a personal interest in the gun. This one is a true auction with a penny start & no reserve, let's see what the market as to say about it.

Just a little food for thought!

You guys are all right, the gun is a total turd. You all should not bid on it...

Be that as it may and I know “most of us” can pick out the good and the not so good points of a gun for sale or at auction and they are fortunate th have the experience to be able to discern those differences.
That being said, there are a growing number of newbies who visit our website in order to be educated in matters pertaining to Parkers. I’m not trying to sabotage anyone’s sale - I’m attempting to shine a little light on things that might otherwise go unnoticed by folks just entering our ranks.
And I mean this in the spirit of good fellowship.

Paul, point well taken. This is a forum dedicated to learning and discussing Parker shotguns. I didn't start this thread to degrade the the gun in any way. I happen to like the gun, perfect or not. Each gun has it's own specific history and there is nothing wrong with discussing a gun whether good or bad. It's entertaining to have the experienced guys here examine and give their knowledgeable opinions on topics of merit. The added exposure isn't going to negatively impact the sale. The gun is what it is. I don't feel we need to be "hush hush" about the possibility of a gun under scrutiny could be owned by a member. No disrespect intended.

Defects or not I like most any of them that have an antlered critter on the floor plate

Would a jackalope count?

I own a CH 12ga 1 frame within a couple hundred serial numbers from the gun being discussed. My gun's bores measure .751/.750 (.038/.038 min walls) which I believe is correct for the period. So if the dealer measured the chokes with a drop in choke gauge the chokes listed are most likely incorrect.
I like the gun and thinks it's cool, but no space in my gunroom.

I honestly took one look at that gun and muttered to myself, "there's Craigs gun".

I wonder about the SB opinion of the original barrel length. I'm not going to look it up if no one else does. I also wonder if this seller can give a real assessment of the bore and choke dimensions. I assume he owns a brass Galazan choke gauge, or a dime.
