If I lived in an area like you guys in AZ/NM and I could find several good places for Eurasians I’d most likely chase then 3 or 4 times a week during the times I couldn’t pursue other things . Well atleast for the first couple years :rotf:

16 VHE 30"

Hey Phil I knew we were related somehow! I have one too with chokes IC and very full. My grandson has killed several turkeys with it using old Win 2 3/4 ", Magnum (marked on the box)1 1/4 oz # 4 loads. A friend gave me 10 boxes of these!! You need some? The old girl doesn't seem to mind shooting these. Serial # 154,059 all original with DHBP. It is also a dove killing machine.

Phil I had 2 16 ga 30" VHE's on 1 frames. One ic/xf sold it and one f/xf still have it and it has taken many turkeys.

Thank you David if I decide to keep her I will take you up on a box. Had about decided to let it go but now with all the great ccomments I may need to change my plan. LOL.

Phil, I had this VH 16 with 30" barrels choked IC & FULL. Sits on a 1 frame, no ejectors though. All original, dates 1928. I also had a Win 94 flat band I worked on for a friend. It too was a 32 SPL, very clean. First I ever saw.

Pretty stout load to be subjecting 111 year old wood to. In 1910 when 154059 would have been made the "standard" 16-gauge shell was 2 9/16 inch and carried a maximum load of 2 3/4 drams of bulk smokeless powder or 22 grains of dense smokeless powder such as Infallible or Ballistite pushing 1 ounce of shot. Your Parker Bros. 16-gauge, unless it was special ordered for the longer 2 3/4, 2 7/8 or 3-inch 16-gauge shells, would have left Meriden chambered about 2 7/16 inch intended for the 2 9/16 inch shell.

The big four, Western, Winchester, Remington and Peters all introduced their 2 3/4 inch Magnums in 12-, 16- and 20-gauge, in their December 1954 price lists.
