worth a try...nothing changed. i think it is in the internal trip. it was fine last year ..last time i shot it. i think the right trip is worn or broken inside.

thanks for the suggestions.

Here you go Dwight. Remove the barrels, hold a block of wood to the firing pins and pull triggers. Now take a screwdriver and carfully cocktail the hammers in the slot of the water table. The trip rods will extend outward. Check for wear. I'm sure this is the problem. If not, it could be wear on the trip in the forend. I'm not an expert, but I own a few Foxes. I shoot them and fix them. Hope this helps. A Fox in my opinion is probably the most simplest built, most dependable and rarely malfunctions. My go to gun for sure!

Right barrel gets fired and used the most, I'm guilty of that!
Jason Barden at Pumpkin Mtn Gunshop should have the part. Really nice guy. I've visited with him on the phone, and have bought several parts over the years.

I'll see if I can get ahold of Jason for you

The Fox Russell Patent ejector system is a much different design than Parker's and "trip rods" is a misnomer. There are no trip rods. What you see sticking out of the frame radius are trip plates and if properly functioning they slide back and forth in the long EJECTOR type mainspring follower with some minimal pressure/pull. They don't push on anything to actuate the ejector (as do the rods the Parker ejector design). I've never seen a worn trip plate but if you decide to replace it/can get one or more from Jason they'll be unfinished and way oversized. Just sayin. The trip plates are 12 and 16/20 specific.

Actually Frank, I believe the only time I said push, was when I was referring to the opening of the barrels. That extra push will extend the rods to "trip" or engage the ejectors. I guess I was referring to the tiny rod on the trip plate. I'm not always clear with my terminology, oops. I know there's a difference between the Fox and Parker. I was trying to explain it to Dwight. No harm no foul, have a great day my friend.
