16 gauge coming back to life

You mentioned the rib being a mess, is it not less trouble to try and find a replacement rib than trying to fix all the pits you referenced? Looks like you picked the right guy for the job, beautiful wood. Good luck on the project.

Nice and straight grain through the wrist where it's important.

I think a little 3 in 1 oil, 0000 steel wool and she’ll clean up ok?

Let me know how that turns out

Well it’s been awhile on this gun. The rib pitting was struck off, I added a 1 1/2 frame Remington era 12 gauge barrel to make it a 2 barrel set and the engraving is done.

That engraving is beautiful. It all really compliments the lines of the frame.

I love the engraving, especially the way it meets the fences.

The engraving is beautiful Brian, combined with the stock wood, this will be a stunning gun! Who is the engraver?

CraigThompson 11-13-2023 01:42 PM

Who was the engraver of you don’t mind saying ?

Brian Hornacek 11-13-2023 02:08 PM

Same as most of the custom guns I have had engraved, Lemieux Armuriers, Quebec.
