Left side of the board was at 32 steps you can see where the wad hit . The right side was 54 steps , the gun is cylinder/cylinder . I think it would work on squirrels i usually shoot them at about 20-30ft .

look s pretty good to me with big shot like bb s or no 2s it should get a coyote pretty easy out to 45 yards....that left barrel would dispatch a turkey out to 50 steps easy...have fun...charlie

I have a similar one. I didn't check to see if it would double when fired. Big mistake! We were shooting feral pigeons and I cocked both hammers. To this day I can't tell you if I hit the bird I was shooting at. What a rude awakening.

I heartily recommend that you check yours to see if it will double.

Enjoy your 8 bore.

I havnt had it happen yet , but it does have some really heavy trigger pull probably the heaviest I have felt on a sxs . I was comparing the hammers and trigger pull on the muzzleloading sxs 10 gauge I have . I noticed the half cock on it will still bring the hammers down on the nipple with alot of force . I dont shoot the muzzleloader however , I had plans to have some work done to it but never did .

Im thinking of loading the 8 gauge up with some larger shot for coyotes .

bb s and no 2 shot will get a coyote at 50 yards every time with a good open shot at the target...I ve used no 4 on coyotes at 35 yards it will drop them in there tracks...so you should be good with the big shot....charlie
