Some Sporting Clays Classics have a flared muzzle to accept the chokes. I have been told that some do not have the flared muzzles. In my opinion, the flared muzzles are not very attractive. I don't know which variety was made when or in what quantity.

K80's are also flared

Choke tube barrels just need more material out at the muzzles. Not the whole length of the tubes. I will say that the factory choke tube barrels are overall wider than standard barrels. Meaning that the tubes are spaced farther apart due to the muzzles being thicker. This would mean that a beavertail forend from a standard set of barrels may not fit onto a set of choke tube barrels.

John, K-80s are not attractive either. Not a criticism, because I shoot Krieghoffs. Beauty is not something necessary on a K gun. My lovely wife's K gun has screw chokes and is not flared, but it is still ugly.

The "K" gun series guns from Krieghoff are designed as one of the top end competition guns and that is that. My, K80 Gold Super Scroll Blue is a great gun for what it was deigned for. I have two fixed choke barrels and they do what I want them to do. I must admit they may not be as sleek as a SxS but they do the job and I like shooting them. They hold up quite well under fire after over the 1000's of rounds I and my students have put through mine.
Horses for courses.....

JMHO

The relevantly new K-gun Parcours barrels are not flared. They come with fixed chokes and Briley Thin Walls. They are a little lighter then the standard barrels. I am shooting 30" in 12 Ga. and 28 Ga. and love them. Billy

Billy:

The Parcours special is a sweet gun. I shot one quite a bit trying it out and almost traded for one. I really liked the feel... a good bit different then the Std K 80 and the forearm is quite different.

I wouldn't trade a Parker Reproduction Sporting Clays Classic for a boatload of Krieghoffs.

Mostly True Story: Once upon a time I shot a Krieghoff. Its handling characteristics had the look and feel of swinging a big ol' shiny metal gate. Yeah, it did.

In the last 10 years, how many Parkers have finished ahead of Krieghoffs in national competitions?

I can personally guarantee there has never been a Kreighoff that has finished ahead of any Parker, let alone a Sporting Clays Classic, in any competition, national or local.
