Dave,
What's the story with the straight stocked GHE?

Just one of the many pictures I've saved out from the various for sale sites. It is a 12-gauge said to be a skeet gun.

Does this gun look correct to my fellow Parker Collectors? Has it been restocked and recased in your opinion. Gun Broker auction number 889489475. Thanks.

The best part of the ad is the 74 pictures. They might not have a clue about Parker guns but at least they gave us something to look at. The wood and checkering look good to me but the original Remington finish appears to have been removed. A late Remington GHE 20 is a gun that I have looked to buy for some time. I would not touch this one though without being able to inspect it or return it. I would be very concerned about the no chokes, paper thin muzzles, and what appears to be a half mile drop at the heel. JMHO.

Oh, and I like that cue ball out there at the end of the barrels.

A good friend knew of this gun and put me in touch with the owner who as luck would have it was local. I had many questions and he finally said he was going to the auction house Thursday and i could me him there to inspect the gun. Let me tell you what a treat it was to fondle that high condition small bore. The case color and wood are definitely original. Dean you nailed it perfectly. The gun was bought new about 1940 by a great uncle attorney. He rarely used it and was passed down through the family. The only flaw as noted by sharp eyes here is the bead, which the owner said he broke and glued back on. Hopefully i can be the winning bid on this beautiful condition gun. Thanks to the Parker forum for your guidance.

I have SN 241421 and my gun shares some of the same characteristics that this gun has. Although, mine has a Parker single trigger and a recoil pad.

Looks like the final selling price was an even 10K.

IMO that's an absolutely crazy price for this gun considering some of the issues I see with it. These are some crazy times we're living in right now, one third of the country is out of work and struggling while others are throwing money around like there's no tomorrow!

Maybe the winner of the auction cashed in on the GameStop casino last week :rotf:
