How about the Orvis 20/28 listed currently in the "For Sale" section?

You didn’t read my last post and yes that gun intrests me quite a bit . But I’ve decided I’m going to take my VH 28 in to the shop today and put it on the bandsaw to fit the wife ........ NOT ......... NOT ....... NOT .......... 😂😂😂😂

Just happened upon a 28 ga Browning "Gran Lightning" which is basically a Citori with high grade wood. The gun with 28" barrels weights....8-lb,2-oz? Can that be correct? It's a over a pound heavier than the 410 on the same frame. Holy crap, that's heavy.

My Gran Lightning in 20 ga weighs 6-12. Something is wrong.

I think something is definitely wrong. My 20 ga. White Lightning with 28" barrels weighs 6 lb. 10 oz.

I agree. Maybe 7-2? Citori’s seem to fit everyone pretty well and there are several configurations to chose from. My only criticism is they are built on a 20 ga frame.

I also looked at Beretta guns and I was surprised to see how much some of them models retail price for some of the models.

I have never paid retail for a Beretta. I have a bag of them.

I bought this Browning 525 from the World's Foremost Outfitter cheap to keep around for kids and women that visit and want to shoot. I also take it to our corporate shoots for the women that want to shoot in those events. And anyone who shoots it loves it. And they do surprisingly well with it typically. It has 26" barrels and that makes it easy for the smaller people to handle. I just weighed it and it weighs 6 lbs 13 oz and it has screw in chokes. Any of the Brownings or Berettas are great choices IMHO.

Does Guerini build their 28’s on a scaled down frame? Guerini blitzed the market when they first released the guns. Seems they have a lot of models, configurations, and barrel lengths. How and where they fit in, in terms of quality and value? For some one looking for a decent 28 ga. O/U are they a solid option?

Yes, they are built on gauge specific frames. I had a Guerini 28ga for a while. I sold it and bought a 12ga for clays. Kinda wish I'd kept the 28. They're not entry level guns, as they're fairly pricey. Well made. They have field models up through super fancy grades with lots of engraving and such. Various bells and whistles on different models.
