I’ve got a friend that has an early early Westley Richards 10 gauge hammergun that feels like a 16 gauge . Think that gun was made in the late 1860’s .

My 27" DH Damascus ten weighs seven pounds four ounces. My Krupp barrel 26" Sauer weighs six pounds four ounces. Somehow, the Sauer has perfectly acceptable wall thickness.

Ive seen a few sub 8lb 10 gauges before .
Heres a 7lb Parker 10 gauge https://www.gunbroker.com/item/868437572 Would be interesting to see the letter on that one . I read on another forum a fellow had a English 10 gauge that was 7lbs he used for quail. Charlie ill dig it up later but I also seen a 7lb double 4 bore  7lbs 13 oz double 4 bore pigeon gun https://www.theexplora.com/harris-ho...ve-pigeon-gun/ |
this 10 ga for sale would be a good piece in any body s collection...and that 4 bore is an awesome gun...if there were still plenty of quail around my neck of the woods and I was younger I would be interested in this light 10 ga...now bill s 6 lb 10 ga really got my attention...charlie

Parkers did make a #1 frame 10 ga I wonder what the weight on that thing was if anyone knows ? |
I have an order copy for the #1 frame ten gauge, but it is buried right now. A search would probably uncover it on this forum. As I recall, the order did not mention weight.
|
Milton, I don't see where the gunbroker ten was listed at 7 pounds. Did you read something that you did not really see?

I think that may be the lightest 2 frame 10 he has . The other ones I think are in the 8.5lb range . |
