Sunday's show wrapped up with a bang - a great GH grade 8 ga. Damascus gun showed up, lots of last-minute bottom feeders showed up around 1:30 and cleaned a lot of tables, including mine, of ammo, accessories, books, cases, and other geegaws "too numerous to mention." As icing on the cake, the drive home was a breeze and there was barely any slow traffic (NO stop and go!) at the Bay Bridge! YAY!

wonder what they asked for the 8 gauge....charlie

Stop wondering - $11,500. It was a great gun, 36 inch barrels if I remember correctly; very clean and tight. As good as any I have seen of similar configuration.

I would have loved to be at that show to see Kevin and Bill. Two great guys. I hunt every day of the week, at least in the mornings, so a trip to Maryland was not in the cards at this time. I've been focusing on ducks and woodcock but started hunting the pheasants on the farm last week. I've been killing birds in the sorghum we planted and in the thick cover of the woods adjacent to the sorghum. We have a hawk problem on the farm so the birds stay in the thick cover when they are not feeding. My little English setter Jesse at almost two years old, is beating my expectations for a dog of that age. Life is good.
I miss Bill and Kevin. |
I sure miss dog training at McKee Beshers Wildlife Management Area in Maryland with Tom Flanigan. Twelve month a year quail hunting with a "Training License". Where is Tom today?
