Thanks everyone. I got lucky. I did get some strange looks and had one guy ask me if it was a German made gun.

Love the picture of Fred Gilbert! Spirit Lake has two other members of the trap shooting Hall of Fame- Johnny Jahn and Bob Allen. Allen lived just across the lake from me. He was killed in a tragic automobile accident a number of years ago.

197 should be enough for a place in B class. How about that, John? The new museum is very nice. The tag on the Sousa Ithaca contains the correct, although abbreviated, information.
|
My guess is that John was shooting penality A class. He needed a 200 x 200 to be in a shootoff for either champion or class A champion. Class B was also a couple of 200 x 200's, Class C was 198 x 200, and Class D was 195 x 200. I'm surprised high in Class D was only a 195. Lots of sandbaggers out there.

Unfortunately I was in A class, so I needed 200 straight to get into the shoot off. Maybe next year.

A class was 94.75% or higher for your last 1000 registered targets. I had a 94.8% average.
