Rich, this is a laid back day, first one in a while. I think I'll go down into the gun case room and empty my box of dog collars, tags, bells and leads onto a table and remember who wore them. A Christmas gift from Linda's daughter was a collage of pictures of our last day with Eva, this year. Eva loved the gun room and my favorite picture of Eva, not in the field, was a shot of her last day in front of a rack of Lefevers.

Yes indeed, a wonderful account of your Christmas and I bet everyone here could come account their own story.
I do not keep dog collars in the gun room, nor do I bury them with the dog. Rather, I affix the collar and bell to the headstone. My last setter to pass on is buried beside a favorite cover of ours and every time I walk by I jingle his bell a bit as if to let him know that I am here. |
Great read Rich!
