I love it when a plan comes together! But that is more than I could have hoped for!! Good for you!!! A 50 yard crosser on a big boy - The stones on you my friend!!! I am going to be giggling to myself about this for a long, long, time!!
Long live the King!!!

Wow! Excellent account of quite a hunt. Congratulations. This story just goes to prove two things: hunting is much more than killing things, and; the craftsmen who bored Parkers knew their stuff(!)

Wonderful photos!! Thanks for posting.

Nice shooting Daryl. I assume you will be tearing the course up at the Southern with that 28. Congrats !!

I’ve shot many slough greenheads in Saskatchewan with a Holland 28 bore using ¾ oz of #6 shot. I limit my range to 25 yards. At that range, the little 28 bore folds them up nicely. I’ve never tried to shoot geese with it because I don’t shoot any size shot larger than #6 in the 28 bore. It will do the job within its limitations, but it’s not a duck gun by any measure. I like to play with it from time to time on the greenheads for the heck of it, but I only take incomers or side shots, never at a going away bird. The 28 bore is a fun and humane gun if used within its limitations.

I dare say you can most likely count on one hand the number of folks that got a CLEAN double on geese with a Parker 28 😉👌🏻👍🏻 CONGRATULATIONS
