The first place was Charlie Herzog’s last hunt for the year , as he goes in for back surgery in the first week of December. We normally hunt a week then before the holidays and will miss him. I usually hunt another two or three weeks in January and February and maybe he can do rehabilitation with a shotgun in hand. With my weather luck this season it will be snowing in Arizona.

I'm heading out there the Saturday after thanksgiving. Hope the cold snap breaks. But it's been a long time since I've hunted in snow. Roosters in snow is quite a sight

Finished up today and on return. Hunted a new friends land, retired Navy who could live anywhere and came back to Pierre from a Pentagon last assignment.

Saw some nice bird numbers , strong fliers for sure. Forgot to take dead bird photos but here we are at the end of the hunt. Gary Grittner, Butch a neighboring rancher and Dick.

On the way home now, a couple weeks off then off for quail.

Wow. Looks like big fun. For much hunting in that I'd be wearing my insulated Xtra Tuffs!
