If you're going to use the gun, put a Kick-eze, or Decelerator on it.

I would go Hawkins also....but everyone is missing the obvious!,,,, KILLER WOOD for a Trojan!!

Dave Noreen 09-18-2018 12:29 AM

The Hawkins pad came out a few years after that Trojan was built. The repro of the Hawkins pad is the largest size with 15 holes. The pad on the gun is the medium size with 13 holes. It takes a big 12-gauge stock to use that 15 hole pad. The NoShoc would be a nice looking period correct pad

As to the Hawkins pad been there found that out. What Researcher said !

Dean Romig 09-18-2018 06:14 AM

The pad and the stock were add-ons sometime after your family Trojan left Meriden.
As Mark said, “Killer wood for a Trojan!” and I agree, but again, it’s not the stock it left the Parker Gun Works with. Very nice though.

Correct, the stock is not original to the gun. The grip, comb and checkering are the major clues. The wood figure as well.

Recoil pads on all these guns are individually hand fitted to each gun. Buying the pad is only the first step. Properly installing it is the next.

This posting was a nice reminder that I have a L C Smith 20 that had been extended with a section of wood and a Whiteline pad added. I droppd it off yesterday to have it cut down to the original wood and have an original Hawkins pad added. Picked it up this morning and am very pleased with the results.

Because it is a replacement stock with a pad added, the current Galazan pad with fifteen may fit. Try counting the holes in the photo and allow for the crushed ones not visible. Is it not a fifteen already on the gun?

If the gun is too short for you now would be the time to add a black spacer of 1/8" or 1/4" to the pad and then the larger pad would in all probability fit. Worth a try. If you buy the pad and it does not work you can always dispose of it here if you are a member. A job for a professional if you want it installed flawlessly.

Original smaller pads are out there, but you'll have to look hard and pay dearly.

Just my 2 cents; waiting for the blade of the guillotine to fall on my post.
