Seriously, good job and enjoy. Fox small bores are great

Now will you really cross over and shoot for team Fox?

Seriously Dean that is a very nice gun. I have one in similar condition but w/o ejectors. Fox guns are built like tanks and the only weak point they have is there ejectors IMO. Now compare it side by side, no pun intended, with one of your 0 frame 20 Parkers or better yet a 00 frame 28. Therein you will see the beauty of the smallbore Fox frame. Enjoy.

Don't know about the strong part as I've put three back on face this past year along with a myriad of other problems ...the simple part I agree with ,the crudely finished part I 150% agree with !!!
the design and dimensions of the action make a hell of a nice little gun though and its right there where they get my admiration ,

Dean that is a wicked find for damn sure !!!!

I really don't think Team Fox would want me. I shoot mediocre enough with a 12 bore Parker - imagine what I'd do with a 20 bore Fox? And I haven't even measured the chokes yet.

I think I will check them beside each other - first the 0-frame 20 or 16 and then the 00-frame 28 bore.

You will be surprised at the results of the comparison. Let us know what you find.

You'd be surprised what a 20ga. Fox can do for your shooting prowess. Do yourself a favor and shoot the Sterly first before you measure the chokes.

Dean,

That Fox serial number chronology that Lightner Library first put out back in 1976, and is now available various places on-line for free, is worth just what you pay for it. The only way to really know for sure is a letter from Savage --

https://www.foxcollectors.com/mechan...actory-letters

Letters were pretty good when we had Roe Clark and then John Callahan as the historians doing them, but we've heard somewhat dismal reports on the letters since Savage took over doing them. Hopefully they will get better.

Better yet would be our friend Toolman talking his way into Westfield and bringing those boxes of old production cards home to the A.H. Fox Collectors Association, Inc.!

Very nice Fox 20, Dean!

Wow! Did you find a hidden time machine Dean?
