Yes, William Harnden Foster is the artist. His paintings and prints are truly coveted.
The upper picture is in my neighbor's house. Could both pictures be of the same dog? Bill Foster's friend and owner of the original skeet field here in Andover, Charles Davies, also owner of Glen Rock Kennels at the same address, raised, trained and sold English Pointers. . |
Michael, I have that same print.

Was the other WHF setter print you were referring to his 1939 CH Sports Peerless Pride?
|
I believe it is Michael.

since he got some some WHF illustrations from me - i think there is a shine wall some place
my stack has many Osthaus (go figure) and more than a few A B Frosts - then a mix of others i just liked |
I just noticed the painter of Jerry's bottom picture is "Hy" Hintermeister - another of my favorite sporting artists.

Dean, If you ever wrestle your neighbor into submission let me know... My current Grouse buddy "Parker" bears a slight resemblance....
|
It’s interesting you never see a GSP in a classic grouse/woodcock painting. Nouveau dogs...
