Many 1880 guns including Parker had .750 bores to allow 11 gauge wads used in 12 gauge extruded brass shells. European guns of today have .720 12 gauge bores compared to our .729. So about .010 difference between them and us.

I've got a H.E. Akrill round action side lock that I bought in 2006. I picked it up at a gun auction and it fit like a glove. It was my first quality SxS and really opened my eyes to what a shotgun should be. I contacted Rodger Akrill to see if there was any more info available and he turned out to be a very nice guy. We spoke a few times on the phone and traded emails while he searched the records for it. Their records were lost in a 1910 fire and mine was made between 1906-1910, so no luck. He did send a nice letter with his thoughts and opinions of the gun on the Akrill letterhead as well as a case label. It is still my favorite shotgun.

Could you please share Roger Akrill contact information? I would like any insight or information he could share about this gun. Thanks

Scott, my info is 12 years old and may be out of date but you might try this:
Roger Akrill, South Lawn, Church Lane, Thornton Dale, N. York, England, Y018 7QL, telephone: 01751 475093.
I'm not sure if this is current. Good luck, and I really like your hammer gun.
