May the Lord touch your heart and bring comfort you and your family. My Uncle is there in the old part and a young cousin who lost his life in Mosul. Such a wonderful tribute that, with your permission, I would like to have read at our Veterans Day program here in King George, Va.
I too welled up at your daughters wonderful tribute. |
i felt proud of my young people at the tremont high school today in there vetrans day program...even fed us a good dinner...charlie

Thank you Larry & Charlie. Larry you are most certainly permitted and encouraged to read Lisha's poem at you Veterans Day program. Lisha would have loved that. It is one of many things that will keep her alive for me and her many friends and family.

Thank you for sharing Hallowed Grounds. It is a fitting tribute to your daughter to see it. No words can express what needs to be said but her work with and respect for all Veterans is greatly appreciated and I am so sorry for your loss. I hope seeing her words will give you comfort, having lost my son-in-law at 49 on Sep 26, I know how empty and unreal it can feel but we will see them again. May God bless you and your family and his grace shine down on you during these difficult days. She was a blessing and her smile and love for life will be with you always and warm your heart until you see her again.

Thank You Alfred: Yes, her poetry means a lot to me and sharing it, like I did tonight at our annual gun show dinner (South Carolina Arms Collectors Association) helped. I displayed an enlarged copy of "HALLOWED GROUNDS" as it was also Veteran's Day today. I am sorry to hear of your loss. 49 is much too young as was 56 in my case. But, as you said, I know that we will see them again in God's House and until then we have only the good memories.
Best Regards, George |
