My quest to find a 28”, 28g, DT with straight stock continues.

Cheers,

Jay, I sincerely hope you find that gun and that when you do the wood alone will have been worth the wait. After all, if you're going to have the best it might as well be the very best!

I would really love to have a 28GA set with 28" Q1 & Q2 chokes. I've never owned or even seen one until now. I didn't know they existed.

I have to admit that I am embarrassed. I handled the GB gun on Sunday afternoon and I didn't pick up on the serial #. Star struck, perhaps? Reflecting on it, the receiver didn't fit in the case as it should have. You can see in the photos that there are wine corks holding the receiver in place and looking at the case, it's large for a 28 ga. Perhaps the case actually is actually for a 12?

Regardless, it's a very nice gun and will serve the new owner well. In terms of practicality, with 28" Q1/Q2 and 28" IC/IM, I'm not sure anyone would need another gun for grouse and woodcock.

Jay, where did you see the gun? I would have loved to have seen and handled it. You know you are suppose to call me when you find a nice Parker Repro. I've never seen the 28" Q1 & Q2 barrels.

As luck would have it the seller lives near me. I reached our via e-mail and met him at his house.

You're right on the case being intended for a 12-ga., the 28-ga Repro's barrels appear lost in the barrel compartments.

I'm not so sure of your second point . . . This 28-ga. Repro appeared to it being hawked right here on this site by the new buyer within 5 minutes of the close of the auction.

Your move, Gerry.

It's a small world we live in.

I believe you are referring to Ian's post. No, he was not "hawking" the GB gun. He was not the winning bidder.

Yes, that is the post.
